How to get more Adds To Cart and Purchases on your website

If you have an eCommerce website, then your ultimate goal is to convert your website visitors into paying customers, right? Unfortunately, just because you built a website, doesn’t mean paying customers will come. You need a little thing called conversion optimization!

How do you optimize your website so visitors take the actions you want them to? There are lots of ways you can encourage people to make a purchase on your website, but we have three conversion optimization tips that we believe will get the sales you want. 

1. Establish trust on your homepage

It’s important to establish trust with users immediately. Just like in real life, first impressions can be everlasting. Firstly, include some text on why people should buy from you, instead of going elsewhere. What do you offer that your competitor doesn’t?

A landing page that speaks to everyone, speaks to no one in particular. So make sure you accurately describe the products and services you offer, and who exactly would benefit from buying from your business. 

Things to include on your homepage that will encourage users to shop or use your services:

  • Advertise current promotions
  • Free shipping (if you offer this)
  • Link to reviews
  • Pop up for a first-time buyers discount code
  • Reviews, such as Google Reviews, Better Business Bureau or Trustpilot 
  • Trust badges
  • Previous client logos

2. Send abandoned cart emails

Abandoned cart emails are a great way to remind customers they left items in their cart and to entice them to come back and finish their purchase. 

You can easily set up Abandoned Carts email with a platform like Shopify or Mailchimp, which offers many add-on functions. 

Abandoned cart emails should include the following information:

  • A fun and engaging subject line
  • Introduction text 
  • List of products left in the cart 
  • Offer or discount
  • Checkout button or Call To Action (CTA)
  • Product reviews
  • Other product suggestions
  • Free shipping (if this option is available)
  • Add a sense of urgency with a time limit

3. Include customer reviews on your product pages

Reviews on your website offer up a sort of social proof to your potential customers. Customers will gain a better understanding of the products, how they work, and what past customers liked and disliked. This will influence their decision-making. 

Customer feedback will also give you insights into how your business can improve its products and services, which can also be invaluable in improving your business. 

Reviews can also help with your SEO ranking, as online customer reviews communicate trustworthiness and authority to search engines.  

One way to encourage customer reviews is by offering a discount code to customers who complete a review on your website.

What we create for The Mamatrainer App


Our team created a beautifully styled website for The Mamatrainer App to feature the app’s incredible coverage in international media outlines, and provide a clear call to action to download the app.

The website includes a FAQ toggle element and several strategically placed newsletter subscribe forms to capture leads


Our team writes informational and engagement-focused captions for The Mamatrainer’s social media posts. Women love talking about their kids and their pregnancy symptoms, so our core strategy has been to focus on letting people follow along with Claire’s pregnancy journey and share their own experiences. 


Our social media photographer takes lifestyle and fitness type shots for The Mamatrainer App, for use on social media, the website, advertising and media coverage. 


We run a multi-phase advertising strategy for the Mamatrainer App. Among the campaigns we’ve created for our client is an intensive downloadable PDF which is released to new subscribers via a Leads campaign to collect email addresses. At under $1 per email, we’re stoked about the results!

We also run a series of App Download campaigns on a series of platforms, including social media, Google Play and the App Store.

It’s not every day felines, food and Korean culture come together to create a trifecta of awesomeness. Today, we’re lending a big shout-out to our long-time client, Disco Cheetah – makers of the best kind of KFC (Korean fried chicken) on earth and a regular staple in Erin’s diet. Here are a few reasons to adore Disco Cheetah.

Disco Cheetah started as a food truck parked downtown in Robson Square, near the Vancouver Art Gallery. The food truck first appeared in 2014, when the owner, Kevin decided it was time to bring Seoul food to Vancouver. But we’re not talking about kimchi and bibimbap. Kevin wanted to bring the full creative force of Seoul’s present day food scene – and he nailed it! Having developed a huge following with his food truck, he recently opened his first brick and mortar store on Davie Street! From the moment it was announced, the press was all over it. It’s no wonder given how popular the Disco Cheetah food truck has been over the years. But don’t worry if you’re an old-school fan, the food truck is still around too

We worked with Kevin to create a consistent, colourful look for the Disco Cheetah Instagram. We focused on a vibrant color scheme that highlights the mouth-watering food Kevin makes. If you check out the feed, you can see how the bright colours of each meal creates a fresh, welcoming vibe. While we keep the focus on the food most of the time, we also make sure to show Disco Cheetah’s clients and team from time to time! 

A funky website

In addition to handling Disco Cheetah’s Instagram and other social media accounts, we worked with our Graphic Design contractor, Katelyn Bishop, to build the company’s website. Again, we focused on bright, lively colours. This helps capture the lively, fun, and creative feel of Kevin and his company! Of course, we knew we had to show the food off right at the top. After that, we wanted to make the site easy to navigate and fun to engage with.
